We are a friendly club with about 100 members, based in the Coventry area. Mostly amateurs of all standards from novice to expert, members are always willing to exchange ideas and advice on all woodturning topics from obtaining wood and other supplies, advising on equipment and tools, to improving turning techniques. We hold a range of annual competitions for our coveted club trophies. We publish a Newsletter every month with interesting articles, discussing ideas, advertising, and providing a lists of forthcoming meetings and events. Club membership costs £31 (£10 club + £21 AWGB) per year.
The club is based at the Visitors Centre of Coombe Abbey Country Park, Brinklow Rd, Coventry CV3 2AB.
The workshop is open to club members on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to about 1pm, so they can use our four lathes and other woodworking equipment.
The workshop is open for training only, on Sunday and Tuesday from 10am to 12:30pm. This is an ideal opportunity to see and talk to people who are serious about their woodturning hobby. If you are interested in woodturning, we provide two free lessons under the supervision of experienced turners. Lessons must be pre-booked.
The workshop is closed on Mondays and Saturdays.
The club is affiliated to the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain.
The club has received grants from the National Lottery Fund for tools and equipment.
All charity donations go to support the Air Ambulance.
